October 25: NSDC in collaboration with its most prominent Training Partner in North-East, Valeur Fabtex Pvt. Ltd. places 87 candidates from Bru Tribes in Tripura during the Second Placement Drive for Bru Tribe.
NSDC has recently conducted a short term training for Bru Tribes, Tripura, a special component under PMKVY (2016-2020) of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
Valeur Fabtex Pvt. Ltd. with Tripura Welfare Research Society organized Second Placement Ceremony in Tripura today to handover the offer letters to the skilled candidates from Bru Tribes trained under Pilot Phase of Bru Tribe Special Project under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
The event was graced by S.K. Panda IAS, Chairman, Executive Committee, Tripura Skill Development Mission, Government of Tripura, who distributed offer letters to 87 trainees of Bru Tribes at this placement ceremony. He congratulated placed students and wished them a very good luck for bright career.
The project has trained a total of 300 candidates of which 112 students are currently working with Quantum Knits, a unit of KPR Mills Pvt. Ltd. (A Bombay Stock Exchange Listed Company).
They also had a brief discussion with the students to familiarize them with the career opportunities and work culture in their respective organizations.
Commenting on the occasion, Mahendra Payaal (Head, RPL, Special Projects, NE, LWE, NSDC) said, “The Second placement drive has opened up 3 avenues for Bru Tribe by covering a long distance from Agartala to Tamil Nadu and overcoming fears by being employed in industry. He also highlighted the role of NSDC Special Projects Team and Valeur Fabtex Pvt. Ltd. in creating a benchmark in Skill industry by 100% captive placement.”
“Each and every student placed is a role model for unemployed youth of North-East, who will motivate more students to take up skill training under Skill India Mission and move out of North-East.”
Among others, K Thangakel, Head of the KPR Mill Limited was present in the programme. Project coordinator of Tripura Welfare Research Society (TWRS) and Tripura Skill Development Mission Officer S Datta presided over the programme.
