Agartala, August 11: Tripura has achieved almost complete coverage under eGramSwaraj and AuditOnline. All 1,194 Village Panchayats and equivalent bodies in Tripura were onboarded on the eGramSwaraj-PFMS interface during 2025-26.
As many as 1,192 Panchayats had online payment facilities. The state also uploaded 1,193 Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) during the plan year.
Tripura also generated 1,193 AuditOnline reports against 1,194 Village Panchayats and equivalent bodies for the 2024-25 audit period.

Tripura records near-total eGramSwaraj adoption
The eGramSwaraj data shows a strong digital governance network in Tripura.
All 1,194 Village Panchayats and equivalent bodies were connected to the eGramSwaraj-PFMS interface. This gives the state 100% onboarding coverage.
The online payment component also recorded almost complete adoption. A total of 1,192 Panchayats had online payment facilities. That works out to about 99.8% coverage.
GPDP adoption was similarly high. Tripura uploaded 1,193 plans on eGramSwaraj during 2025-26. The coverage was therefore about 99.9%.
The figures indicate that Tripura has moved beyond basic registration on the digital platform. Most Panchayats are also using key financial and planning functions.
Tripura compares strongly with Northeast states
Tripura’s performance becomes more significant when compared with other Northeastern states.

Arunachal matches onboarding but trails in payments
Arunachal Pradesh has also achieved 100% onboarding on eGramSwaraj-PFMS.
However, its online payment coverage is significantly lower. Only 1,541 of 2,108 Village Panchayats and equivalent bodies had online payment facilities.
That represents about 73.1% coverage.
Arunachal’s GPDP upload rate remained high at around 99.1%. Its AuditOnline coverage stood at about 86.5%.
Tripura therefore shows a more consistent performance across the entire digital governance chain.
Assam and other states show wider gaps
Assam has a much larger Panchayat network. It has 2,663 Village Panchayats and equivalent bodies in the 2025-26 data.
However, only 2,198 were onboarded on eGramSwaraj-PFMS. Online payment coverage stood at 79.5%. GPDP uploads also covered about 79.5% of the network.
Assam generated 2,025 AuditOnline reports against 2,770 Village Panchayats and equivalent bodies for 2024-25. This represents about 76% coverage.
The gap is much wider in Manipur and Nagaland.
Manipur reported only 161 onboarded Panchayats out of 3,175. Its online payment coverage was just 113 Panchayats. It also reported no AuditOnline reports for 2024-25.
Nagaland had 984 of 1,312 Panchayats onboarded. However, the data shows zero online payments and zero GPDP uploads.
AuditOnline adds another strength
Tripura’s AuditOnline performance further strengthens its position.
The state generated 1,193 audit reports during FY 2024-25. This was against 1,194 Village Panchayats and equivalent bodies.
That translates into approximately 99.9% coverage.
Sikkim recorded 100% coverage. Arunachal Pradesh reported 1,823 audit reports against 2,108 Panchayats.
Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland reported zero AuditOnline reports in the supplied data.
Panchayat planning training expands sharply
Tripura has also expanded training related to Panchayat Development Plans.
The number of trained participants increased from 1,985 in 2022-23 to 3,050 in 2023-24.
It then jumped to 12,084 in 2024-25.
The figure rose further to 17,685 in 2025-26.

Digital literacy remains an area for expansion
The picture is somewhat different for digital governance and literacy training.
Tripura trained 197 participants in 2022-23. The number increased to 350 in 2023-24 and stood at 300 in 2024-25.
No figure was recorded for Tripura under this category for 2025-26 in the supplied data.
However, 566 participants had been trained during 2026-27 up to July 10.
This suggests that while the state’s digital Panchayat infrastructure is highly saturated, continued investment in digital literacy and capacity building remains important.
A strong digital governance position
Overall, the data places Tripura among the Northeast’s leading performers in digital Panchayat governance.
The state has achieved 100% eGramSwaraj-PFMS onboarding. It has almost universal online payment coverage. GPDP uploads and AuditOnline reporting are also close to complete.
The performance is particularly notable against the wider Northeast picture. Several states continue to show sizeable gaps between Panchayat onboarding, online payments, planning and auditing.
For Tripura, the next challenge is to sustain this near-complete adoption and deepen actual use of digital systems at the grassroots level.
