Pro-MASS News Bureau: Dec 15, 2015:
In Arunachal Pradesh, Winter Session of the State Legislative Assembly starts from tomorrow. But the State government has been showing resentment on the Governor’s decision of pre-poning the House from 14th January 2016 to 16th December 2015.
The Arunachal Cabinet in a release last evening has opposed Governor JP Rajkhowa’s decision on preponing the sitting of the house and making the resolution for removal of the Speaker on the first sitting as the first agenda.
It also states that Governor’s preponing of the house as per article 174 is contradictory to article 163 of the Constitution of India, according to which the Governor should have taken advice of the Council of Ministers. The cabinet has also asked the Governor to recall and cancel the order of preponing of the House and allow the session as per earlier schedule.
Speaker Nabam Rebia has also written to the Governor on the matter and has asked to prorogue the house. AICC member and Former MP Takam Sanjoy has termed the Governor’s decision as Unconstitutional, unethical and unprecedented.
