August 14, 2018: In his maiden China visit after becoming IT and Health Minister of Tripura, Sudip Roy Barman highlighted opportunities and potentiality of trade and commerce in North Eastern Region. He appealed to China businessmen to explore the potentialities and invest in the region.
Sudip Roy Barman along with All India BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, Assam Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and Nagaland Minister Temjen Imna Along are visiting China to enhance bilateral relations between India and China. The team will also make an in-dept study of IT sector in China.
In his speech in Conference of Indian Community in China and China Trade Forum and Event Management Co at Guangzhou in Cjina, Roy Barman highlighted geo-political history of Tripura and mentioned about its high literacy rate. On infrastructure, he said, Tripura is now connected with the Capital New Delhi and other big cities by train services. The conference was held on August 12 last.
“After the BJP Govt came in power, expansion of rail network connected Tripura with other cities including New Delhi and Kolkata. Rail network will also pave way for easy transportation of goods and raw materials”.
He also mentioned about rich natural and cultural aspects of the State as well as potentiality of becoming a thriving economy through Tourism, Bamboo industry and natural gas. He also asserted, with Bangladesh border on three sides, Tripura is on the verge of becoming a gateway to other Asian Countries opening immense opportunities for foreign investment in multiple sectors”.
In his Facebook post, Roy Barman wrote that the visiting Indian team toured a waste management plant in Guangzhou in China. The plant generates power from garbage and waste materials in a very eco-friendly process.
