TFA Takes Strict Action Over Referee Assault

The Tripura Football Association (TFA) has taken disciplinary action against four Bloodmouth Club players for assaulting referee Biswajit Das during a First Division League Super Four match against Agiye Chalo Sangha.

The incident occurred when Bloodmouth players protested against a decision by Das and stopped the match. The protest escalated into violence, with players physically assaulting the referee in full public view on the field.

The association decided to impose strict penalties to prevent similar incidents and protect match officials from violence.

Four Players Receive Three-Year Suspensions

The league committee acted a day after the incident. It issued show-cause notices to four players accused of assaulting the referee: Parvez Bhuiyan, Buddhadeb Debbarma, Boyar Debbarma and L.K. Singh.

The TFA governing body reviewed the replies at its meeting on Monday. Association president Pranab Sarkar, secretary Amit Chowdhury and other governing body members attended the meeting.
