September 22, 2018: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb will launch the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyan (PMJAY) formally at a programme at Children’s park tomorrow in presence of Chief Guest Governor Kaptan Singh Sulanki. The programme will be launched all over the country tomorrow.
Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman, Revenue Minister NC Debabrma and Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan among others will also attend the programme. The scheme will cover of Rs. 5 Lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care and there will be no restriction on family size, age or gender.
As the largest targeted health assurance scheme in the world it presents the opportunity, and together with it the challenge, of providing secondary and tertiary medical care to over 50 crore poor and deprived people of the country.
