September 28, 2018: In two separate raids,Police recovered more than 1000 kg (Thousand Kilo Grams) dry ganja and two ganja packaging machines from villages under Sonamura subdivision in Sepahijala district in Tripura in two separate raids.
Police sources said, raid was conducted at residence of one Banu Singh Debbarma of Kalabari at Bijoynagar under Sonamura sub-division on Thursday night. After a massive search, police found drums of ganja which were hidden in 5-8ft deep pits. Around 773 kg ganja was seized.
In another raid, Police seized two ganja packaging machines from jungles under Motinagar Gram Panchayat in the same sub-division today. Also during the raid, Police seized around 290 kg ganja stored in sacks and drums. Total estimated value of seized ganja in twin operations stands at around Rs 40 lakhs.
SDPO of Sonamura Rajdip Deb along with SI Srikanta Chakraborty and police personnel of Sonamura PS conducted the raid and seize operations.
