Assam Police has intensified its move to execute non-bailable warrants ahead of upcoming assembly polls. Talking to AIR, Director General of Police Mukesh Sahay said that instructions have been given to licensed arms owners to deposit their weapons. He said police are reviewing the progress in this regard on daily basis. Chief Election Commissioner during his recent visit to Guwahati had instructed administration to execute non-bailable warrants and seize illegal arms. Sivsagar SP Anand Prakash Tiwari said that nearly 1,300 arms have been deposited as of now. He said more than 200 non-bailable warrants have been executed in Sivsagar district.
