Agartala, July 28, 2019:  Even as digital and electronic media are increasingly dominating the scene, radio seems to be slowly repositioning it as a popular media among people – both in rural and urban areas. Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme is turning back the people to Radio once again.

Real life experience : Around 20 km away from  sub-divisional town Kamalpur in Tripura, people of an obscure village, namely 10 number Basti area, gathered to listen to Maan Ki Baat episode today.

“The Prime Minister is using affordable and handy medium of communication –radio – to disseminate the message of development to all sections of the society – even to people residing at remote areas”, said local inhabitant Prabir Das. Noayagaon Panchayat and Yuba Morcha arranged the Mann Ki Baat listening programme at 10 Number Basti.

Narrating their views, Gram Pradhan Amal Ghosh and Yuba Morcha Mandal president Soumitra Ghosh said, “Popularity of radio or transistor is soaring high in villages – even in remote hamlets in Dhalai district in Tripura. Sitting together, people were listening to the programme, which rekindled memories of our childhood”.
