Agartala, August 13, 2019: A nine member team of 10323 terminated teachers of Tripura today met the State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath and handed over an 8-point charter of demand. The Minister along with officials of the Education department and Law secretary discussed complexities of present condition of terminated teachers. The Minister also exchanged views with the delegates of the terminated teachers. Considering the gravity of the situation, the Minister remained positive and sensitive to the plight of the terminated teachers.
In its pre-poll vision document during last year’s Assembly Polls, BJP assured all possible help to the ‘victimized’ teachers – and according after assuming power, the Government successfully appealed for extension. However, since then, permanent solution remains elusive.
Speaking to media after submitting the memorandum and holding detailed discussion with the Minister, leaders of the terminated teachers said, the Minister assured them that the government had been working on exploring ways to rehabilitate the terminated teachers.
“We are hopeful that a solution will eventually came out. The Government is positive and sincerely considering the issue, State president and secretary of the All Tripura 10323 Teachers’ Association said. Leaders of the Asso also said, the Minister will hold another meeting with concerned official to explore and place rehabilitation proposals to the Government.
