Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day tour of Odisha, today inaugurated the permanent campus of National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Jatani near Bhubaneswar. Addressing the students, Mr. Modi said innovation is the need of the hour, for every society and every era. The moment innovation stops, systems lose their life. The Prime Minister said our scientists and professors are always thinking about doing something or the other that is new. He said oneness with people make institutions centres of inspiration.
The Prime Minister called upon the students of NISER and scientific community to develop scientific temper among the school students. After inaugurating NISER, the Prime Minister flew to Puri and paid obeisance to Lord Jagannath. Later in the day, the Prime Minister will also dedicate Indian Oil Corporation’s 15-million-tonne oil refinery at Paradip to the nation and address a public meeting there.
Notably, the Paradip refinery is the 11th refinery of the Indian Oil Corporation is the one among the most advanced refineries in the world and has a unique INDMAX Unit technology. The 35 thousand crore rupees refinery is designed to produce 44 per cent LPG. The refinery will mainly meet the fuel needs of the Eastern and South-Eastern markets apart from exports. Trial runs of most of the units of the refinery have been completed and it will be fully commissioned by end of this month.
