Agartala, October 21, 2019: The hill areas – from where CPI-M emerged and ruled Tripura for so many years, is set to slip away from CPI-M. Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) delivered a major blow to CPI-M and plunged into an unprecedented crisis today.
Uncertainty looming large over the present elected council as altogether 15 elected members of council have sought to move a no-confidence notice. The root of the organization is set to be rattled. This move will have serious political importance in the Opposition camp as TTAADC till date remained to be the last bastion of the Left in the state after BJP ousted CPI-M from power in 2018 Assembly polls.
CPI-M State Committee secretary Gautam Das termed the move as political conspiracy by ruling BJP against the Leftists.
