Tripura has been selected for national awards in recognition of its commendable activities in Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) system. “Tripura has been selected for ‘Jatiya Panchayat Puraskar 2020’ by the Union Government”, said Director of Panchayat Department in press release.
The Director said, Ministry of Panchayati Raj released the name of the national award winners for three-tier Panchayat system. The Union Government released this in Ministry’s website without organizing any programme at National level due to COVID 19 pandemic situation.
West Tripura Zila Parishad, Kanthalia and Bishalgarh Panchayat Samiti under Sipahijala District, Mohanbhog Gram Panchayat under Mohanbhog Block, Khas Madhupur Gram Panchayat under Dukli Block in West Tripura District have bagged the national award, named Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Swashaktikaran (empowerment) Puraskar as a part of Jatiya Panchayat Puraskar-2020.
Besides, Khasiamangal Gram Panchayat under Teliamura Block has received Nanaji Deshmukh Rastriya Gourab Puraskar. Mailak Gram Panchayat of Amarpur Block has received Child Friendly Gram Panchayat Puraskar.
Goyachand Nandigram Panchayat under Satchand Block in South Tripura District has bagged Gram Panchayat Development Plan Puraskar.
The State Government is committed to take forward the Panchayati Raj system to fulfill the target of Prime Minister for “Sabka Sath Sabka Bikash”, the Director of Panchayat department said.
