Union Minister of Food and Civil Supplies and founder of Lok Janasakti Party , Ram Vilas Paswan is likely to visit Tripura next month, LJP state President Rupam Kar said.
Addressing a Press Conference here in Agartala Press Club, Kar said, “The LJP has started getting good response in the state. Today, altogether 40 voters from Kakraban assembly constituency join our party. Next week, some people from Agartala will also come under the LJP camp even strengthening our organizational presence in the state”.
On being asked on the elections, Kar said, national party leader Meera Chakraborty will be visiting the state within few days and in the next month party’s founder and central minister Ram Vilas Paswan will come over here to assess the ground situation of the party unit in Tripura.
Though, LJP is a member of NDA, in Tripura LJP leaders seemed reluctant to tie up any alliance with the ruling parties if the senior partners show less interest.
“I have personally written to BJP state president Dr Manik Saha and IPFT Supremo NC Debbarma to forge a pre-poll alliance ahead of the ADC and Agartala Municipal Corporation polls. We will sit together very soon to finalize the term and conditions. But, if the talks come in full circle and we are once again refused by the ruling parties, we will surely fight the polls on our own”, Rupam commented.
