The Out Patient Door (OPD) services of the GBP hospital in Agartala will remain suspended for July 12 and 13 next for a sanitization and fumigation drive in the hospital, a press communiqué issued by the state government said. It has also informed the people that no new admissions would be done on these two dates but the admitted patients would be treated as usual.
“There will be sanitization and fumigation of GBP hospital, Agartala on 12th July 2020 (Sunday). As a result all OPDs will be closed and no new IPD cases and emergency cases will be admitted in the hospital on 12th and 13th July, 2020”, the release reads.
It is also worthy to be mentioned here that the drive had been undertaken after a number of nurses and a doctor tested positive to the Covid 19 who were posted at the Gynecology ward of the hospital.
Sources said, an intensified drive has been initiated to isolate the close contacts of the newly infected patients.
The communiqué undersigned by director of medical education Dr. Chinmoy Biswas also reads, “The existing indoor patients will continue to be treated in GBP hospital during this period and the normal operation will resume from July 14 next”.
