Spike in Covid19 cases has raised alarm in administration as well as among masses. The concern is palpable as it has been found that people involved in Covid19 related duties or working in close proximity to the Covid19 facility centers have tested positive.
As hospital canteen staff and 13 Police personnel of different Police Stations including PHQ have tested Covid19 positive, people are deeply concerned.
One canteen staff of GB Hospital Agartala, the biggest referral hospital of the state tested positive to the Covid19 on Tuesday. As soon as his report came, the canteen was sealed off and his close contacts were quarantined. The health officials also shifted the patient to the Covid treatment centre. According to sources in the health department, not less than 20 people were quarantined and they would be subjected to Covid19 tests.
Meanwhile, a similar incident was reported at Police Head Quarters. One of the police personnel tested positive to the Covid19 last night. Sources in the police department said, one of the police personnel posted at PHQ tested positive to the Covid19. After knowing this, the entire police complex was sanitized today. The policemen who came in close contact of the positive person had undergone sample tests and most of them had shown negative results, some of the tests were still to be done, the source said.
In a related development, eight Police personnel of Ampi Nagar Police Station tested Covid19 positive. Confirming this, SDPO of Ampi Nagar PS said that among them one ASI and two woman constables, four male constables and one child whose mother is a constable in the PS were detected positive of Covid19. The PS authority has immediately shifted them all to Udaipur quarantine centre.
Meanwhile, four police persons of Melagarh police station were tested positive to the Covid19 in rapid antigen test. Sources said, they had been shifted to the nearest Covid19 care centre and the contact-tracing process was underway.
