Dr Harjit Nath, one of the youngest faculty members at Tripura Central University, has devised a low-cost robot (Warblt) from scrap materials to minimise human contact for doctors and nurses and provide basic services such as distribute food and medicines to coronavirus patients admitted in hospital.
The TU professor has donated the Warbot to Tripura Medical College and finally it has been put in service in Hapania Covid Care Centre.
The Covid Care Centre, Hapania has been sanitized as all the patients got released. The robot will be in service when the new batch of patients will come.
The two-Storied and 250 bed Indoor Covid Care Centre (CCC) at Hapania, Agartala will re-open soon with enhanced facilities for patients. Robot assistance services will augment safety of health personnel. However, 24-hour surveillance by expert medical team will ensure proper and effective care of ailing persons. Patients, in this new CCC will be served Dietician guided food and fruits. Besides, the CCC has Central AC system and it is Wifi enabled. Refrigerator, washing machines and 24-hour driniking water cooler for patients have been arranged. The CCC is fitted with PA Mic system, allowing the authority to pass general information easily and promptly to in-house patients.
Besides, ensuring mental health of the patients, the CCC is fitted with LCD TV for patients. Musical relaxation is another facility that will take care of mental health of patients. On top of that, Indoor games facility have been incorporated for patients.
