In an otherwise sunny morning, an anxious woman got down from an ambulance tightly clinching her baby to her chest and quietly slipped into ward of Hapania Covid Care Centre. The baby was found Covid19 positive. The baby was just 10-month old – the youngest patient underwent treatment at the Hapania CCC.
On condition of anonymity doctors and medical staff said, “The youngest patient that underwent treatment here was only 10-month old. The baby looked so delicate and cute. We all instantly fell in love with the baby. Thankfully, the baby recovered soon. We can vividly recall serene smile of the baby”, medical staff said and added, total 14 children got treatment here, so far.
“And the eldest patient we treated here was a 76 years old person. That patient also recovered“, health personnel said. For obvious reasons, they did not reveal gender or other details of the patients.
“No doubt, we never expected that we would have to face such a pandemic. However, we are trying our best in treating patients and keeping us safe. Every smiling face of cured patients gives us the energy to ward off the enormous stress”, doctors and health workers, hidden behind PPEs, said.
Hapania Covid Care Center has already grabbed public attention. Even as the 250-bed CCC has hit news headline recently, it started functioning from June 4 last. CCC sources said, as many as 400 patients have been treated so far. Presently, 100 patients are still undergoing treatment.
With its modern facilities and round the clock medical supervision, this two-storied CCC has become Tripura’s first such center that has introduced Warbot ensuring the safety of medical staff. Professor of Tripura University, Dr. Harjit Nath built a robot – Warbot – and donated it to Hapania CCC. This newly enhanced CCC would soon become functional.
Hapania CCC sources said, “The two-Storied and 250 bed Indoor Covid Care Centre (CCC) at Hapania, Agartala will re-open soon with enhanced facilities for patients. Robot assistance services will augment safety of health personnel. A 24-hour surveillance by expert medical team will ensure proper and effective care of ailing persons. Patients, in this new CCC will be served Dietician guided food and fruits. Besides, the CCC has Central AC system and it is Wifi enabled. Refrigerator, washing machines and 24-hour driniking water cooler for patients have been arranged. The CCC is fitted with PA Mic system, allowing the authority to pass general information easily and promptly to in-house patients.
Besides, keeping an eye on mental health of the patients, the CCC is fitted with LCD TV for patients. Musical relaxation is another facility that will take care of mental health of patients. On top of that, Indoor games facility have been incorporated for patients.
