Amidst hardship due to Corona, some relief for daily commuters of Dharmanagar in North Tripura has come in the form a of long-demanded ‘City Bus Services.
A City bus service facility was launched in Dharmanagar today fulfilling aspiration and demand of local people. The service facility was formally inaugurated by Chairman of TRTC Dipak Majumder. In the inauguration programme, Deputy Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen, TIDC chairman Tinku Roy and other distinguished guests were also present. The City bus service will come to a great relief for commuters, traders and students.
“One Bus will run between Churaibari and Dharmanagar Govt College via Kadamtala Bazar. Another one will provide services along Ranibari to Dharmanagar Brajendranagar Road”, local sources said.
On a social media post, Tinku Roy said, this City Bus service will immensely benefit the common people, especially students of Dharmanagar College. “For last 25 years, people of Dharmanagar were demanding introduction of City Bus services in the area – however, their demand remained unattended. At last, the services have started today”, Roy said.
It may be noted chairman of TRTC, Dipak Majumder in a recent visit to Bishramganj said that Government had taken several steps to revamp TRTC as well as improve conditions of motor stands. At present, TRTC is managing around 50 motor stands across the State. Majumder said, modernization of passengers’ shed, sitting facilities are on cards. Besides, improving bus services and ensuring passengers’ convenience are other areas of focus.
