There is no respite from Corona menace for Tripura as both the number of deaths and new cases are increasing and creating pressure on State Health infrastructure. As on September 1, six more Covid19 patients died in Tripura while fresh 566 persons tested positive.
The COVID19 scenario in Tripura is changing fast. The death graph is alarming — six more COVID19 patients died while another 566 persons tested positive on Tuesday. The death count included- three from West Tripura alone, one each from Sepahijala, Dhalai and Gomati district.
Meanwhile, another MLA and chief whip of Tripura Assembly- Kalyani Roy, her family members and security personnel have been found COVID19 positive on Tuesday.
The total day’s count for positive cases stands at 566 which is highest single-day count so far. The figure included- 269 cases in West Tripura alone, 36 in North Tripura, 51 in Unokoti, 72 in Dhalai, 29 in Khowai, 34 in Sepahijala, 31 in Gomati and 44 in South Tripura district.
As per the latest official bulletin, as many as 12,156 persons have been detected positive so far. Among them, 7847 patients have already recovered– on Tuesday, 193 patients have been discharged from various Covid Care Centres.
In the meantime, the state government has stressed on raising awareness among the people. As part of the initiative, frequent announcements with an appeal to the people for obeying the guidelines are being made by the administration.
The policemen are also keeping a close watch on the movement of people to ensure that nobody roams without face covers. Besides, an initiative has also been made for conducting maximum number of COVID19 tests in view of public safety.
“At the same time, it will be prudent to strengthen medical infrastructure without any further delay to bring number of deaths under control. Immediate checkup and required medication after patients take admission in Covid Care Center is a big problem – and health administration must ensure adequate medical aids, especially for patients with co-morbidity”, opined one health department personnel on condition of anonymity.
