Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has asked the Additional District Magistrates to work in mission mode to complete the priority projects at every district within the stipulated time.
The Chief Minister passed the instruction while reviewing the progress of priority projects via video conferencing at Secretariat on Thursday.
He reviewed the activities under ten priority projects including identification and distribution of pata lands, rehabilitation of Bru refugees, Atal Jaldhara Mission, distribution of trade license among small traders, Atmanirbhar Bharat and various schemes of aspirational blocks.
According to a government press release, the state government has appointed Addl. DMs in the posts of Ex-cadre for timely completion of the priority projects.
Taking part in the discussions, principal secretary to Drinking Water and Sanitation department- Shashi Ranjan Kumar said as many as 8.1 lakh families in rural areas and 2.10 lakh families in urban areas have already been given free drinking water connections under Atal Jaldhara Mission.
In the current year 2020-21, a target has been set to extend drinking water facility to more 70,271 families in rural areas and 11,100 families in urban areas. In this context, the Chief Minister asked to achieve the target at every district within the stipulated time.
Secretary to Rural Development department- Saumya Gupta also attended the review meeting and said 12 blocks of five districts have been identified as aspirational blocks where various welfare activities are going on in full swing with focus on healthcare, education, agriculture, water resource, infrastructure and livelihood.
The Chief Minister asked the Block Development Officers to make field visit and supervise the ongoing projects. He also asked the ADMs to review progress of the projects with the BDOs.
Secretary to Urban Development department- Kiran Gitte spoke on Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor Atmanirbhar Nidhi Yojana.
He said, a survey has been carried out in town areas of all eight districts and 4,136 street vendors have already been given vending certificates under the scheme. Among them, 531 vendors have applied for loan online and the state government has already sanctioned loans for 75 persons.
Speaking on Bru rehabilitation, OSD Dr. Manas Deb said 13 locations in five districts have been identified for settlement of the Bru people while identification of lands has already been done.
Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar, Addl. Chief Secretary S.K. Rakesh, principal secretary to Revenue department B.K. Sahu, secretary to planning and Coordination department Apurba Roy and Director to Industries and Commerce department P.K. Goyal also attended the review meeting.
