The State Government has taken decisive steps to curb spread of Covid19 in the State and MP Pratima Bhoumik is playing a crucial and laudable role in improving treatment facilities in the GBP Hospital. BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee said this while interacting with media persons on Saturday. He highlighted Government’s steps in the battle against Covid and came down on CPIM leaders for criticizing the role of the State Government during ongoing Covid19 pandemic.
Notably, CPIM leaders, in a press meet held today alleged that Government was unable to control the situation. Bhattacharjee also referred to recent Oxygen crisis issue at GBP Hospital in Agartala and claimed that the crisis was a ‘conspiracy’.
“For last few days, attempts have been made to defame the Government over handling Corona pandemic. A conspiracy was hatched and such evil plans could have been averted”, Bhattacharjee said.
He criticized the CPIM and blamed the red party for being a catalyst for transmission of Corona in the State.
Bhattacharjee rubbished the allegation of CPIM that BJP was holding programmes violating Covid norms and said, “we are observing Seva Week, but we are maintaining social distancing and following other Covid19 norms”.
Hailing the efforts of MP Pratima Bhoumik, Nabendu Bhattacharjee said, apart from being a public representative, Pratima Bhoumik is also chairperson of Rugi Kalyan Samiti at GBP Hospital. This Samiti works improving facilities for patients and harnessing healthcare services in the hospital. “Was there any functional existence Rugi Kalyan Samiti during Left Regime? Can anyone recall the name of its chairperson before BJP-IPFT came into power?”, Bhattacharjee asked.
In this context, He also mentioned about responsibilities and services provided by doctors belonging to BJP. He said, “These doctors are not Government employees, but our party activists. They have extended their services at this crisis period because of their sense of accountability to people of the State”.
Bhattacharjee also mentioned about setting up Covid19 Help Center outside GBP hospital where BJP supporters are helping the patients and relatives.
