As Covid19 is raging through Tripura with more than 310 dead, the BSF troopers guarding Indo-Bangla borders of Tripura have taken an oath to educate the border population regarding the Covid 19 norms and safety measures. The BSF felt that it was the right time to help the government of Tripura with all its resources at a time when the Covid 19 positive cases are increasing everyday.
According to the BSF top ranks, the BSF troopers will take additional charge of generating awareness among the population they have come across in the line of duty. During patrolings and all kind of public-BSF interactions, the BSF will try its best to ensure that people can defeat the virus in all fronts.
DIG BSF DK Sharma said, “The pledge we have taken against the Covid 19 will be followed everywhere dedicatedly. The people who are residing in the border areas, we will aware them about the pros and cons in regular intervals. We will, time and again, try to ensure that all of them wear face masks, maintain the necessary distancing during our public interaction programmes. When we go for patrolings and come across people not wearing masks, our troops will suggest them to wear it properly and make them know the risks associated with it”.
The BSF higher official also said that now the Covid cases in BSF were also lesser and only 37 active cases were left.
“The cases actually rose in BSF in the months of May and June. At that time, our troopers were in leaves and when they came back to their posts, a sudden spurt in cases, specifically in the BSF was recorded. But, now the situation was quite under control and only 37 active cases were remaining in BSF. Now, we are keeping a strict vigil on quarantine. Jawans are going and returning but in every case quarantine is being followed. The reason behind this is our dedicated approach towards the Covid. Doctors have done a great job, proper treatment has been provided to each and every person”, added Sharma.
