In Assam, the BJP is undertaking a padyatra at Titabor now in Jorhat district. Union minister and state BJP President Sarbanand Sonowal along with several MPs are participating in the 30 kilometre walk from Rajabahar to Rajbongshi sports complex at Titabor. Titabor is the assembly constituency of Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi. The BJP has planned more padyatras to connect with masses in coming days ahead of assembly polls. Assam assembly polls will be held this year.The state has 126 assembly constituencies.
Meanwhile on illegal migration, Assam CM Tarun Gagoi tweeted, “We will not shelter any illegal migrants in #Assam but at the same time we will protect every citizen of #India from any harassment. I want to stop illegal migration but I will not tolerate if anyone harasses the indigenous people of the state.”
