The Tripura Government has decided to introduce 24X7 hour medical facilities at five PHCs in rural areas of the State. Chief Minister Biplab Deb said this on Wednesday. He said, 24X7 PHCs will be set up at Jamthum under Dhalai district, Hejamara and Lefunga under West Tripura, Manughat under South Tripura and Radhanagar PHCs.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan held a virtual meeting with seven states- Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Goa, Uttarakhand and Maharastra to review the latest COVID19 situation.
Education minister Ratanlal Nath has represented Tripura in the meeting where various important matters were discussed.
Speaking to Media this evening, Nath said in the meeting he was informed that 10 states- Maharastra, Kerala, West Bengal, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Assam, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh were contributing around 60 percent of country’s total COVID19 cases.
If compared with such states, Tripura is holding a good position in COVID19 management, Nath pointed out.
He stated that the state government had conducted a Sero Survey in all eight districts to know the percentage of people who developed antibody.
“As per the survey report, 41.76 percent people in West Tripura, 22.09 percent people in North Tripura, 37.06 percent people in Unakoti, 25.36 percent people in Dhalai, 39.53 percent people in Khowai, 41.40 percent people in Sepahijala, 40.50 percent people in Gomati and 19.70 percent people in South Tripura district have already developed antibody,” Nath told the Media.
As many as 2927 health workers, the Education minister said, have been trained for providing healthcare in Jayanti Ward (Dedicated COVID19 Hospital) of GBP hospital.
In the meantime, the state government had allotted land at Devendranagar for opening a branch of National Council for Disease Control (NCDC). In this context, Nath had sought cooperation from the Union Health Minister’s so that the proposed works get started fast.
