As part of this endeavour, total 54 globally proven innovative technologies were shortlisted. Among them, six technologies have been selected for constructing six Light House Projects (LHPs) of about 1000 houses each with allied infrastructure at six places- Agartala (Tripura), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Rajkot (Gujarat), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Ranchi (Jharkhand) and Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).

The Mission was designed to achieve the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘housing for all by 2022’ when the country would celebrate its 75th year of Independence.
