As part of countrywide drill, all the eight Northeastern States including Tripura held dry runs for Covid19 Vaccination on Saturday. In Tripura, drills were held in three locations of the West Tripura district and were successfully conducted.
The mock vaccination drills were conducted in Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) hospital, Gandhigram primary health centre and Borakha primary health centre where 25 selected health care workers participated in the trail run.
Three teams having six members including two health workers as vaccinators and one each from education department, social welfare and social education department and home department as vaccination officer had been entrsuted with the job in the mock drill.
Speaking on the issue, Dr Asish Kumar Pal, Nodal Officer, IGM hospital, National Health Mission (NHM) said that the dry run of COVID-19 vaccination was underway in three locations under West Tripura district.
“In the first phase the health care workers will get the vaccine. A total of 25 persons including ASHA and Angandwadi workers have participated in the mock drill in on Saturday”, Pal said.
He also said that preparation to start vaccination has been completed by the health department and once the vaccine arrives the programme will be launched.
“The exercise includes the data entry in COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network (Co-WIN) application to monitor the vaccine delivery, testing receipt and allocation, deployment of health staff and mock drill of vaccination with beneficiaries”, Pal added.
Earlier, the NHM Director Dr. Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal said that the exercise would help to examine all aspects of the vaccination process.
