After remaining suspended for a long time due to Covid19 pandemic, physical classes for students of class V to VIII will resume in Tripura from January 04 (Monday). Classes will resume with strict adherance to Covid19 related Government guidelines. However, the resumption of physical classes comes with a rider. As per the decision, student will be allowed to attend the classes only if they carry a written consent letter of the guardians for the same. The decision to restart these classes were taken after a meeting of a High Power Committee. State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this earlier.

It may noted that physical classes for students of class IX and class XI restarted across the State from December 28 last. Earlier, physical classes for class X and XII also started,

The decision to resume classes in schools came after Covid19 situation in Tripura became under control. While there is no report of death for most days of a week, number new cases is also nominal. In view of such an improved situation, Government after consulting the High Power Committee decided to reopen schools for students.
