In a joint operation, Crime branch along with Airport Police personnel conducted a raid and search in the residence of one Biman Das (44) of Kathaltali at Gandhigram under Airport Police on Saturday.
During the search, cops recovered 228.8 gms of brown sugar contained in 6 nos of Plastic packets and 79.2 gms of loose brown sugar from the house of Das. Police arrested the accused person Biman Das.
In a separate incident, Churaibari Police personnel recovered 3000 nos Yaba Tablets from the possession of one Rahul Ahmed of Tillabari under Patharkandi today. The accused person was arrested and a specific case was slapped in this connection.
Continuing operations against ganja, Police detained two trucks plying towards Dharmanagar at 82 miles Naka Point on NH 08 on Saturday.
During the search Police recovered a total of 92 packets of dry ganja weighing around 870 kgs from the trucks. Two drivers of the trucks along with one assistant were arrested.
Police also destroyed 6000 ganja plantations in Bagbar and Kalshimura area under Kalamchoura PS today.
Meanwhile, four persons, identified as Bangladeshi nationals were arrested today. After receiving information that four persons were detained at the MBB Airport in Agartala with some forged documents, Police reached the spot and interrogated the detained persons.
During interrogation, the detained persons confessed that they had illegally entered into Indian territory with forged Identity Cards. Accordingly the four persons were arrested and a case had been registered in the Airport PS under Foreigners Act,
