Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday said informed the assembly house that the state government would do no compromise with its motto of quality education and thus the SSA (Sarba Siksha Abhiyan) teachers he been directed to be regularized by the High Court of Tripura , would be undergone eligibility check.
“Obviously, the regular pay scale will be given to the SSA teachers as per the directions passed by the High Court of Tripura but the government will not do any compromise in the questions of eligibility of the teachers”, Nath said while responding to a notice moved by BJP MLA Sushanta Chowdhury during the reference period on Tuesday.
“The judgment of the High Court is a bit ambiguous for us and we are examining the points mentioned in the judgment to have a clear view of the directives”, Nath further added.
He said, as per the 49th paragraph of the judgment, the law department is planning its next course of action to examine the educational and professional qualification of each of the teachers appointed under SSA.
In his own words, right to education act, minimum qualification, TET and appointment before 2010, many things are needed to be envisaged properly in order to evaluate the qualifications of the teachers, he added assuring that no job holder had to worry about their fate as the government was indebted protect the rights of each and everyone.
According to him, in the year 2003-04 , altogether 5,691 teachers have been appointed under the SSA scheme in one year contract. Later, considering their performance, the teachers have been given re-appointment with the same contract.
Apart from them, under another centrally funded scheme RMSA (Rastriya Madhaymik Siksha Abhiyan) 390 number of teachers were appointed. Under the RMSA scheme, some non-teaching posts were also filled. In 2018, the central government integrated all these schemes into SSA (Samagra Sikhsa Abhiyan).
