Union Minister of state, ministry of Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste on Thursday said BJP is the only party that promised to give hundred percent grants to the district council areas. The Union Minister who was addressing a public meeting at Bishramganja under Sepahijala district of Tripura in support of local BJP candidate Bishu Debbarma attributed the misery and plight of people living in the ADC to the prolonged misrule of Left parties and previously the Congress party.
“Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb have a genuine intention to build an Atma Nirbhar Tripura. Chief Minister Biplab Deb has already taken numerous steps to ensure effective implementation of central schemes for the people of the state as well as those who are living in the district council areas. To strengthen the effective flow of development in the state, BJP must be voted to power in the district councils also. It will free the district from the clutches of corrupt and unacceptable forces”, the Union Minister told the gathering.
According to him, BJP is the only party that can make a difference in the TTAADC. “A project proposal of Rs 8 thousand 2 crore has been sent to the Centre for its approval. The project deals with a number of aspects pertaining to the development of TTAADC areas. Home Minister Amit Shah has also said that it is the high time to ensure that the district council areas get the hundred percent funds that it deserves. It has been further indicated when grants received from the finance commissions increased manifold in the 15th finance commission if compared with the previous one”, he said.
The minister also held the CPM and Congress responsible for the lack of transparency and development in the district council. “The previous governments had just only looted the people of ADC areas. The central government’s funds were not sufficiently utilized in the underprivileged areas due to the large scale corruption and commission syndicates”, alleged Kulaste.
Along with him, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and other Janajati Morcha leaders also attended the function.
