Tripura Pradesh BJP unit conduct a Karyakarini meeting in Agartala on Monday. BJP State president Dr Manik Saha, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Jishnu Dev Varma will remain present in the meeting. Besides BJP Central leaderships are expected to attend the meeting.
Notably, BJP Sangathan Mantri Phinindra Nath Sharma has already arrived in Agartala.
According to party spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee, two more leaders – general secretary Bhupindar Jha and Tripura Prabhari Vinod Sonkar – are also expected to attend the meeting.
Bhattacharjee said, some proposals will be placed for discussions, however, did not detail about the proposals. Through online, other leaders of the State will be able to know about the proceedings.
The meeting, as expected, will grab the attention. Rumor mills are busy in churning speculation over a number of issues including expansion of the State Cabinet. After visit by Central leaders, followed by a reported visit of BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman to New Delhi to meet top brass of the saffron party, rumor mills are working overtime. Barman is reportedly not in ‘good’ terms with the present State leadership. Considered as a rebel – local media branded them reformists – Barman’s visit to Delhi sparked fresh waves of speculation.
After recent visit of BJP general secretary BL Santosh, it was rumored that Barman was offered a Ministerial berth in State Cabinet which he denied. However, there is no confirmation about the offer, so far, either from Barman or the Party.
Another topic on which speculations are flying high is expansion of State Cabinet. Names of possible candidates are doing rounds while some are speculating that a change in the State president is imminent.
There are speculations relating to Monday meeting and its proposals – however, BJP has managed to present a united face before the public, so far. No leaders have made any such comment that may indicate anything wrong. United effort to minimize the differences among leaders, if any, is what has been noticed.
