In yet another ganja haul, Teliamura Traffic Unit along with the Police personnel recovered dry ganja worth over Rs 5 lakh from an outstation vehicle and arrested the driver. The incident occurred on Wednesday at Hawaibari Naka Point under Teliamura.
As part of routine vehicle checking, SI of traffic unit, Indrajit Debbarma stopped one vehicle with a number plate mentioning Haryana (HR 38 Z 1453). After checking the documents, he smelt a rot and informed the Teliamura Police station.
Soon, police force led by Teliamura SDPO Sonacharan Debbarma reached the spot. They conducted a search operation and recovered 155 kg dry ganja. According to sources, the market value of the seized ganja stands at over Rs 5 lakh.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle. The arrested person was identified as Rajesh Kumar and he hails from Faridabad of Haryana.
