Senior Sports Journalist of the state and founder president of Tripura Sports Journalist Club (TSJC), Goutam Kar Bhowmik breathed his last at his house in Dhaleswar at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Goutam Kar Bhowmik was 65 at the time of death. He is survived by his wife, his only son, many relatives and admirers. He was also an eminent cricket commentator.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb expressed grief at the demise of Goutam Kar Bhowmik. In a condolence message, Deb prayed for the peace of the departed soul and extended sympathy to bereaved family members.
Media fraternity of the State condoled the death of Kar Bhowmik and extended sympathy to the bereaved family members.
During his final journey, the body of the deceased journalist was brought to the Agartala Press Club in the afternoon today. Among others, secretary of the Agartala Press Club, Pranab Sarkar and other senior journalists paid floral tributes to Goutam Kar Bhowmik.
In a message, Agartala Press Club authority expressed deep mourning at his death and prayed for ever-lasting peace for his departed soul. Besides, the Press Club authority expressed sympathy for his family members and relatives.
Members of the TSJC also mourned the death of the Sports Journalist. They extended sympathy to the family members of late Kar Bhowmik.
Meanwhile, president of Journalist Recreation Club, Suprabhat Debnath , Secretary Abhishek Dey and many others offered floral tributes to the late Journalist.
