A minor boy of Tripura who was kidnapped and held captive in Bangladesh for a ransom of Rs 20 lakh returned to her parents on Wednesday. The boy, Faysal Ahmed returned to his home 26 days after being abducted even as his father, Abdul Kalam refused to pay any ransom.

 

With the initiatives of the administrations of India and Bangladesh, Faysal Ahmed, returned to his home after the border guards of India and Bangladesh completed the formalities. His Parents expressed happiness after getting back their child.

Even as he was kidnapped, his captors were gentle with the boy, Faysal claimed.  The kidnappers did not hurt Faysal, moreover, they gave him good food. During his 26 days in the captivity, he was also allowed to speak with his parents over the phone 2-3 times.  

 

Couple of days after he was kidnapped, Faysal was successful once to give his captors a slip. However, as he was wandering after coming out of the hideout of his abductors, one of the members of the gang caught him and took from his initial staying palce at Cumilla to Dhaka. The kidnappers continued to shift him from one location to another location.  

 

According to sources, Faysal was kidnapped after Abul Kalam’s business relations became soar with a Bangladeshi liquor trader, Nasir Hussain.

 

Sources said, a group of miscreants led by Nasir picked up Faysal from Najurpora area under Bagber gram Panchayat in Boxanagar on July 31 last. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh.

 

The gang is involved in liquor trading. They kidnapped Faysal over some issues pertaining to ‘gold biscuits’ worth Rs 1 crore 20 lakh. The miscreants took Faysal in their liquor den in Bangladesh.

 

Initially, Faysal was taken to Cumilla in Bangladesh.

 

Abul Kalam, the father of Faysal did not pay a ransom, instead he relied on the initiatives of the administration. Coming under serious pressure from Indian administration as well as Bangladesh authority, the kidnappers left him alone at Telkupi bazaar in Cumilla two days ago.

 

This time, Faysal did not aimlessly roamed around but went to the Police Station and later, he was produced before the District Court of Cumilla. The Judge of the Court ordered the Police to hand over to the Indian authority.

 

Accordingly, through a flag meeting between BSF and BGB, Faysal returned home safely.
