Amidst Corona scare, malaria is posing threats to people living in remote villages in Teliamura and adjoining areas. At least, three malaria patients have been identified during the last couple of days and they are undergoing treatment at Teliamura Hospital.

Even as the situation appears to be under control, several financially weak families of remote hamlets are reportedly suffering from fever – especially in Nonachhara ADC areas in Teliamura. Due to lack of transport, several patients of poor families are reported to be suffering from an unidentified type of fever at their homes. Immediate, blood screening and holding medical camps in those areas are the need of the hour, relatives of one Malaria patient who is admitted to Teliamura Hospital commented.

Prevalence of suspected malaria was reported after one elderly woman of far-flung Molsom Para of Nonachhara ADC under Mungiyakami block was admitted to Teliamura Hospital two days ago and later, she was tested Malaria positive.

A 50-year-old Brekena Molsom of the Molsom Para was suffering from a fever for the last few days. However, she was staying at home without availing of medical help. Her condition deteriorated two days ago and family members had to hire a vehicle at a price of Rs 1500. The family members of Brekena Molsom alleged vehicles are not available in Nonachhara due to bad road conditions.

It was learnt, several people living in remote Nonachhara ADC village areas are suffering from fever – however, due to financial constraints, most of them are suffering without any medical treatment.

Meanwhile, two more patients were identified as suffering from Malaria and were admitted to Teliamura Hospital on Wednesday night. One of them is a TSR jawan, Jahar Lal Sarkar 934), of 10 Bn TSR located at Gamaibari. The other patient is identified as Jyoti Rani Kaipeng(18) of Taidu under the Gomati district.
