Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will arrive in Agartala on Wednesday and all the preparations are complete to welcome the Vice President. This will be his second visit to Tripura. Earlier, the Vice President came to Agartala in the Tripura Central University Convocation programme.
Massive security arrangements have been put in place. City roads have been decorated with the Vice President’s cut outs and the officials were giving the final touch to the VIP visit schedules as per the directions of the New Delhi.
The Vice President will arrive at MBB Airport, Agartala, Tripura from Imphal in a special Indian Air Force air craft at 10 am. From Airport, he will go straight to Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan along Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya for a civic reception. There in the Hall no 1 the Vice President will launch Agartala Smart City project (climate resilient road network) and other schemes.
In the Civic reception apart from Tripura Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb, Union MoS for Social Justice Pratima Bhowmik, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Secretary Kumar Alok will be present.
Later, the Vice President will interact with eminent SHG activists of Tripura, Frontline healthcare workers and Primary Sector achievers at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan Hall no 2 in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singh Roy. Here also Naidu will address the gathering.
After this programme, the Vice President will go the Raj Bhavan for lunch.
At 4 pm he will arrive at Hapania International Fair Ground to attend the exhibition of Handloom and Handicrafts of the North East Region (NER) as Chief Guest. Here also the Vice President will interact with the artisans. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Industries and Commerce minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia and NEC secretary K Moses Chalai will be present.
In the evening at 5.17 pm a cultural programme will be held at Raj Bhavan in honour of the Vice President where instrumental jugal bandi of violin and flute will be performed by Sidhhartha Sarkar and his team which will be followed by Sangrai Dance from a troupe of Manu Bankul, Bharat Natyam by Nababodhan, Hojagiri Dance by Gachirampara troupe.
A group song of Sachin Debbarman by Rakesh Kishore Debbarman will also be presented in the programme. He will stay at Raj Bhavan and on Thursday at 9 am the Vice president will leave for Dimapur in a special Air force aircraft.
