Active participation in services for the betterment of the nation would be true tribute to the Ironman of the country Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who set a unique precedent in the unification of the country in post-Independence period with prudence and resilience. Vallabhbhai is an inspiration for the country men, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
He said this during Rastriya Ekta Diwas programme held at Manoranjan Debbarma memorial stadium at A.D. Nagar in Agartala on Sunday. Along with the whole country, Rastriya Ekta Diwas was observed across Tripura today. Several programmes were held across the State.
In Agartala, the Chief Minister took the salutation of various platoons of Tripura Police and Tripura State Rifles. The first and seventh battalions of TSR, Assam Rifles and CRPF then performed band.
Deb remembered the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Akhand Bharat.
In a social media post, Deb said, “Attended the programme organized by Tripura Police on the occasion of #RashtriyaEktaDivas commemorating the birth anniversary of #SardarVallabhaiPatel. I am sure #Tripura Police will continue to serve the people of #Tripura tirelessly & will ensure the integrity of the state.”
In a seperate post, Deb wrote, “#SardarPatel personified the values of integrity and dedication. His birth anniversary is celebrated as the #NationalUnityDay for his immortal contribution in uniting our beloved nation. Let us reaffirm our pledge to work towards building a strong, united & prosperous #India.”
DGP V.S. Yadav and Chief Secretary Kumar Alok were present in the programme.
Meanwhile, district-level programmes were held on this occasion. Eminent persons discussed the significance of Rastriya Ekta Diwas and the contribution of Vallabhbhai Patel in Post-Independence period.
