Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday asked the gazetted officers to discharge their responsibilities properly and complete various works in time.

He was addressing second triennial conference of Gazetted Officers’ Sangha at Agartala Town Hall.

 

At the beginning of the programme, Deb along with others paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary observed as Rastriya Ekta Diwas.

 

“Unwillingness in performing responsibilities is not welcomed because it is a barrier towards state’s prosperity and building healthy future generation. The gazetted officers have a major role to play in implementing various plans of the government for public welfare”, Deb said, adding that the government employees were given free hands and various steps were taken for their welfare.

 

He advised the gazetted officers to work with target and complete the tasks in time. Delivery of citizen services is one of the most important functions of the government, Deb said.

 

“The state government is working with sincerely to extend various facilities to the youths so that they can become Swanirbhar within the state instead of going to other states. And, the officers’ role is important in creating such atmosphere,” Deb told the programme.

 

The Chief Minister said the government initiated a plan to construct a 14-storied building at Gurkhabasti area. A top official of PWD was already sent to Delhi for gaining experience and collecting information regarding similar buildings, he said.

 

In the programme, the Gazetted Officers’ Sangha donated Rs. Two lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. TCA president Dr. Manik Saha, secretary and president of Tripura Gazetted Officers’ Sangha and many others were present.
