Much to the relief of people, both the State and Central governments have slashed the petrol and diesel prices on the eve of Kalipuja and Deepavali. After the central government reduced the excise duty of petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively, the State Government has also announced further cut in the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 7 each.

Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote in his social media, “Following Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji led central govt’s decision on reduction of excise duty on petrol & diesel. #Tripura govt has also decided to reduce petrol & diesel cost by Rs 7 from tomorrow. After central and state governments deduction in fuel prices, petrol and diesel will be cheaper by Rs12 and Rs17 respectively in #Tripura from tomorrow. A happier#Diwali for the 37 lakh people of #Tripura.”

Petrol will be cheaper by Rs 12, diesel by Rs 17 in Tripura from November 4.
