Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is in the core of India’s Foreign Policy that aims at working together and harmoniously for the world. However, idea of ‘Kutumbakam’ did not deter India to pursue a strong Missile Policy for self-dense. Dr Ramarao, country’s one of the top missile scientists, said while interacting recently with students in Agartala.
In reply to question raised by a student, how India’s Missile Policy impacted country’s Foreign Policy’, the missile scientist hailed the effectiveness of India’s foreign policy and said, “There is no super power in the world in the present days. Be it the USA or China, no country can survive without cooperation from other countries”.
That is why, he continued, India emphatically appealed to global leaders in G-20 to work for the world. “Let us work for the world. Let us work together harmoniously was the message that Indian leaders stressed”, he said and this appeal goes in consonance with the idea of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Even as India stresses harmonious relation, it would be unwise to assume that all the other countries would follow the same path. “India is well prepared to defend its sovereignty and geography. We have a strong defense system”, he commented.
Analyzing India’s defense capacity, Dr Ramarao said, India is capable of manufacturing any types of missiles, at present.
“We are independent and capable of doing all kinds of missiles and SLV systems. The basis of such tremendous achievement was laid in the approach of ‘doing it inside the country’. No industry participated in manufacturing space technology 3-4 decades ago. So we went to the industries, over time several big companies like TATA and medium companies like Data Pattern have started working in space technology. Defense item manufacturing ecosystem is changing”, he said.
According to the missile scientist, advancement in science and technology is the utmost necessity for a strong Foreign Policy and country’s youth are capable of utilizing the scopes.
“India’s Foreign Policy is well appreciated due to its emphasis on wellness for everyone. The Indian youth now have a unique chance to take advancement of science and technology to a newer height by setting up Start Ups and making the country stronger by harnessing existing capacity and capability. I call upon youth to become more innovative and improve our capability as we are lagging behind other countries in this category”, Dr Ramarao signed off.
