The 14th virtual e-Convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala was held on Saturday.
Padma Vibhushan Prof. Murli Manohar Joshi, Former Prof. of Physics, Allahabad University and Former Union Minister, Human Resources Development, India was the Chief Guest of the function and delivered the Convocation Address.
Dr. Raghu Sundaram, Dean, New York University, Edward I. Altman Professor of Credit and Debt Markets, Stern School of Business, New York graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Besides, PVSLN Murty, Chairman and MD, NEDFi has also graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. The Chairman, Board of Governors, NIT Agartala presided over the function. Prof. Harish Kumar Sharma, Director, NIT Agartala awarded the degrees to the students.
In this convocation, 46 Ph.D. scholars, 136 M. Tech students, 15 MCA students, 28 MBA students, 21 M.Sc Students, 646 B.Tech Students, 47 BS and BT Students, and 24 BSMS and BTMT students got their degrees. In total, 963 students got their degrees in this convocation.
In this function, the Institute handed out gold medals to 26 students. Among these, 08 are Branch Toppers of different Under Graduate (UG) programs, 03 are Branch Toppers of Dual Degree (BSMS & BTMT) Programs, 12 are Branch Toppers of different Post Graduate (PG) programs and 03 are Institute Toppers. Out of the 03 Institute Toppers, 01 is from Under Graduate (B.Tech), 01 is from BSMS/BTMT Programs and 01 is from Post Graduate program.
The Institute Toppers from Under Graduate program is Soubhik Ghosh (B.Tech, Electronics & Communication Engineering). The Institute Topper from Dual Degree (BSMS & BTMT) Programs is Gaurav Kumar (BSMS Mathematics). The Institute Topper from Post Graduate programs is Kevin Alexander (M.Tech, Mechanical Engineering).
The Convocation ceremony ended with grand success.
