Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday said a section is trying to discredit Tripura by disrupting the peace through provocative steps. In this context, he asked the people to be alert.

 

Deb was addressing a party rally at Manu Higher Secondary School in South Tripura district where as many as 1035 people joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

 

“Rahul Gandhi and Mamata-nephews are defaming Tripura. It has been spread on social media platforms that riots are taking place in Tripura and people cannot stay here. You tell me, is there such a situation in Tripura?”, he posted in his social media and urged people to identify those who are trying to enter Tripura by defaming the State and drive them away forever.

 

After welcoming the newcomers, the Chief Minister said that injustice or betrayal with the people of Tripura wouldn’t be tolerated. He also spoke on the achievements and plans of the government in various sectors including Tourism.

 

The presence of the women in the rally organized by Manu mandal was noticeable. MLA Sankar Roy, MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik and Manu mandal president Dipak Dutta among other local leaders were present in the rally.

 

Later, the Chief Minister held series of organizational meetings at Banamalipur (Ward 23, 24 and 25) in Agartala. He discussed matters with the Karyakartas relating to upcoming Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) polls. In ward 25, a total of 250 voters of 69 families joined BJP in his presence.
