In consonance with the Tripura Government’s effort to include the State in the ‘Industrial Map’ of the country, the government has geared up to host a two-day long ‘Destination Tripura- Investment Summit 2021’ commencing from December 9 at Prajna Bhavan, Agartala. The prime objective of the summit is to attract investment in the state’s potential sectors and attain the goal of ‘Ek Tripura, Shresta Tripura’.
Addressing a press meet in Agartala, Minister for Industries and Commerce department of Tripura – Manoj Kanti Deb said over 100 investors from across the country will take part in the summit. It would focus potentiality of Agar, rubber, food processing, Tourism, agriculture, horticulture, tea, bamboo, handloom, information technology and higher education sectors for investment.
Manoj Kanti Deb said, “Industrial growth is important for the state’s overall development. With this view, the summit will be organized. Industrial growth will not only ensure economic progress but also generate employment scopes.”
The main objective of the summit is to showcase various business opportunities in Tripura and to attract investment.
He said an industry-friendly environment is now prevailing in the state following which the investors from various parts of the country are now showing interest.
The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, is organizing the summit in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Invest India to encourage investment in potential sectors of the state.
To woo the investors and make the Summit a grand success, successful road shows were conducted in Mumbai and New Delhi.
Secretary of Industries and Commerce department- P.K. Goyal, Director T.K. Chakma, chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation- Tinku Roy and secretary of Indian Chamber of Commerce’s Tripura chapter- Sujit Roy were also present in the press conference.
