During preliminary interrogation, Sepoy Suku Chandra Debbarma has confessed that he along with NLFT (BM) cadre Saruj Debbarma alias Usha Ranjan Debbarma alias Warai was directly involved in the killing of BSF personnel. Warai had surrendered before a special Branch of Tripura police and BSF on November 9 last.
They killed Inspector Bhuru Singh and Constable Raj Kumar as well as snatched their service weapons- one 7.62 mm AK-47 and one 9 mm SMG Berretta of BSF along with Magazines and Live Ammunitions, near Indo-Bangladesh International Boundary in the area of responsibility of BOP RC Nath, 64 Bn BSF in early hours of August 03 last.

Officials and Jawans of BSF Tripura are not only encouraging active insurgents of NLFT (BM) Outfit but also motivating Cadres of other Insurgent Groups of the North East Region of India particularly Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), a Meitei tribal Outfit of Manipur.
With the sustained efforts, all such insurgents are becoming disillusioned from the insurgency activities and showing their determination to join the mainstream.
