Tripura is the fastest growing economy in the Northeast. We are working to build the nation, to build a new and prosperous Tripura. The Government has accorded priority in ensuring industry-friendly environment to attract investment for different sectors, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
In a spirited speech, Deb, who inaugurated a two-day ‘Destination Tripura Investment Summit- 2021’ at Prajna Bhavan, Agartala on Thursday, detailed the potentiality of different sectors and urged the investors to be a part of the growth story of Tripura.
“For growth of industries, the State Government has introduced several facilities as well as ensured ‘ease of doing business’ through simplification of procedures”, he pointed out.
Ensuring commercial security is another priority area for the Government to attract investors, Deb said while calling upon the investors from across the country to explore the potentials in Tripura and avail the business opportunities.
“The possibilities in Tripura’s industrial sector are yet to be explored and sectors like agar, tea, rubber, bamboo, IT and horticulture crops could be game changer for the investors,” Deb pointed out.
The Chief Minister held interactions with the investors, who came from Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Jaipur and Dhaka to join the summit, in the second part.
He said the state government has taken plans for providing subsidies and other facilities for international and national flight services to be introduced at the new terminal of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport with an aim to explore the business potentials.
Later in a social media post, Deb wrote, “The summit focuses on attracting investors from across the globe. They will get an opportunity to explore various rapidly growing industries of the state and facilities provided by the state government to promote ease of doing business. It will open new avenues of development for Tripura and local businesses and entrepreneurs will get a mega boost.”
Industries and Commerce minister- Manoj Kanti Deb, Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Tinku Roy, Secretary of Industries and Commerce department- P.K. Goyal, Deputy General Manager of NABARD- Saji K.V., chairman of rubber board Dr. Sawar Dhananiya, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) D.K. Sarma and president of Indian Chamber of Commerce Pradip Surekha were present in the inaugural session.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister along with the investors participating in the summit took part in a cultural programme held in a city hotel in the evening.
