The Tripura Government has decided to procure more 20,000 MT paddy directly from the local farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP). Besides, the Government will also conduct recruitments of the 35 posts of the Medical Officers (Dental) and 1178 posts of the Panchayat Executive Officers, said ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in Agartala on Tuesday while briefing the media about cabinet decisions.
Chowdhury said, “The state Cabinet has cleared a proposal to procure more 20,000 MT paddy directly from the local farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP). The paddy procurement drive at MSP would cost around Rs. 45.68 crore.”
Recruitment
On recruitment initiatives, the Minister said, the Cabinet has approved recruitment of 35 Medical Officers (Dental) through Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). He pointed out that those who were engaged in Covid duties would be given priority in the recruitment.
Chowdhury said, “To bring more efficiency in implementation of various development works, the state government has decided to recruit one Panchayat Executive Officer in each of the 1178 Panchayat and Village Committee”.
The cabinet has approved creation of 3 posts in establishment section of the Court No-5 in the High Court of Tripura, increase in allowance of the clerks under the Law department working with lawyers from Rs. 7500 to Rs. 8500 per month and recruitment of five Scientific Officers (Group-B, Gazetted) under the Home department, Chowdhury said.
Other Cabinet decisions
The ICA minister said there are several pending cases, mostly departmental proceedings, of the employees under various departments. For fair and early disposal of such cases, the state government decided to appoint contractual Investigating Officers from the recently-retired IAS, Senior TCS and Judicial officers. The appointment would come under the Administrative Reforms department.
As per the cabinet decision, in case of submission of investigation report within three months, the IAS officers would get honorarium of Rs. 15,000 and TCS officers would get Rs. 10,000.
The cabinet has approved a proposal for providing 25 acre land to Society for Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, Hapania on lease. The land has been provided for infrastructural development in the College and the Hospital as well as for inclusion of improved services.
In another important decision, the cabinet cleared a proposal to provide 49.21 acre land for setting up of the proposed off-campus centre of National Forensic Science University.
The new campus would come up in the Sadar sub-division. Tripura would be the fourth place in the country to have such an off-campus centre of National Forensic Science University.
