In its relentless attempt to contribute to making ‘Tripura, A drug free State’, BSF jawans seized contrabands worth Rs. 1,63,68,138 and detained four Bangladeshi nationals.

 

According to a BSF press release, BSF personnel of 150 Bn, Acting on a tip-off, seized 29,580 Yaba Tablets worth Rs. 1,47,90,000 from a spot near the Indo-Bangla international border located behind Lucherbari School at Anandpur village under Sonamura Sub-division in Tripura on Tuesday. The seized Yaba Tablets were handed over to the Police for further course of action under the NDPS Act.

 

Besides, BSF troopers also seized various contraband items of the collective market value of Rs. 15,78,138 on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday.

 

Meanwhile, 133 Bn BSF personnel, acting on specific input, have foiled a trans-border attempt and apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals and detained one Indian tout.

 

They were identified as- Abdul Jalil (65), Helena Begum (52), Baby Akhtar (55) and Md Jakharia (05).  All of them are residents of Surjya Nagar under Comilla district in Bangladesh. The Indian tout, identified as Rafikul Islam is a resident of Singerpara village in Sonamura police station under Sepahijala district.

 

An FIR has been lodged and all the detained persons and the recovered items handed over to local Police for further legal actions.
