ProMASS News Bureau: Aug 17, 2016: It was a numbing moment when the 8 year old daughter of CRPF Commandant Pramod Kumar martyred in a terror attack in Srinagar’s Nowhatta area lit her father’s pyre at Jamtara in Jharkhand on Tuesday.
The braveheart who is survived by his wife, daughter and 63-year-old father, was given a gun salute. Heart rending and emotionaly sapping scenes from Mihijam in Jamtada , Jharkhand, where martyred Pramod Kumar was given a final farewell by his 8 year old daughter.
Martytred in the militant attack on CRPF camp in Nowhatta Chowk in Srinagar, CRPF commandent Pramod Kumar was given a state funeral.On the fateful day, Commandant Pramod Kumar took part in Independence Day celebrations in the CRPF camp. In his address to the jawans, he had a special mention of the stone pelting and how it was a huge challenge for the security forces. Just a few moments after the address, the camp was attacked and Pramod Kumar also took position. He neutralized 2 terrorists before making supreme sacrifice for his country.
