The Rural Development Department has come out with the delta ranking of the Aspirational Blocks of Dhalai District in Tripura for the second quarter on the basis of certain key performance indicators.
As per the delta score Dumburnagar Block has topped in the activities of drinking water and sanitation works with a total score of 73.03, Silachari Block has scored highest in IT and agriculture sector scoring 88.94 and 34.92 respectively, Karbook Block has scored highest in the education sector with a score of 71.61, Chawmanu Block has scored highest in the health sector with a score of 88.79, Rupaichari Block has scored highest in activities under rural development, animal resource development and social welfare and social education department scoring 69.55, 31.38 and 73.33 respectively, and Raishyabari Block has scored highest in fishery activities with a score of 78.37.
It is worth mentioning that the Government of Tripura launched the Transformation of Aspirational Block Programme (TABP) on September 24, 2019 to accelerate improvement in the socio-economic indicators of the most under-developed blocks of the state. The programme is currently being implemented in 12 most interior tribal blocks to improve the quality of life and develop infrastructure there. The initiative focuses on the strength of each block and identifies the attainable outcomes for immediate improvement while measuring the progress and ranking of the selected blocks.
The rural development department is the nodal agency for the implementation of the programme. However, other line departments and TTAADC are also participants in the process. The performance reviewed for ranking is based on data points in nine primary sectors namely Health, Education, Agriculture and Horticulture, Fishery, ARDD, Rural Development including panchayat, Drinking Water, Sanitation and Rural Electrification, Social Welfare and Nutrition and Information Technology.
